Fees
Standard Rate (In consulting room)
- $170 per session.
- This fee is set below the Australian Psychological Society's (APS) recommended rate of $254 per hour.
- Medicare rebate: $126.50 with valid referral (mental health care plan) from your GP. Medicare rebates are processed into your chosen account at the end of session.
Pensioner & Health Care Card Holder Rate (In consulting room)
- $150 per session for Pensioner and Health care card holders.
- This fee is set below the Australian Psychological Society's (APS) recommended rate of $254 per hour.
- Medicare rebate: $126.50 with valid referral (mental health care plan) from your GP. Medicare rebates are processed into your chosen account at the end of session.
Morrison Psychology provides a high level of service, so the session fee involves more then face-to-face consultation, including letters to referral sources, phone calls and test scoring.
Bulk Billing
- Available on a limited basis. GP referral (mental health care plan) is required.
Payment Methods
- Payment is accepted by cash, cheque, EFTPOS or credit card. HICAPS private health fund payment processing is also available. Payment in full is required at the time of consultation.
Health Funds
- Many private health funds / insurers provide rebates for psychological services for members with 'extras' cover.
- If you wish your session fees to be rebated by your health fund, it is the clients responsibility to contact your private health fund to determine whether you are insured for psychology sessions, and the amount you are insured for.
Workers Compensation / Motor Accident Insurance Board / Victims of Crime
- Session fees may be covered by your workers compensation, motor accident insurance board (MAIB) or victims of crime insurers.
- If you require psychological support please speak to your treating GP for a psychology referral.
- Session fees are charged at the full APS recommended rate of $251 per hour.
Critical Incident Debriefings
- Critical incident debriefings are charged at the full APS recommended rate of $254 per hour. This fee does not include travel time to the debriefing site.
Cancellation Policy
- As you can understand it is nearly impossible to book a new client at very short notice, and if several clients cancel in one day then the psychologist loses a large amount of their income, making it difficult to meet ongoing business costs.
- If for some reason you need to cancel your appointment please provide notice, otherwise you will be charged a cancellation fee, cancellation fees are as follows:
- Zero notice - full fee
- 1 - 24 hours - 50% of fee
- 24 - 48 hours - $50
- In extenuating circumstances (due to illness or emergency) this cancellation fee is waived.
- Medicare or Health Insurance rebates are not applicable to cancellation fees.
